Our Maritime Department works with governments, regulatory bodies and the commercial industry, supporting them in fulfilling ongoing ISPS code requirements.
Post September 11th, the Maritime Department was invited to participate in the Merchant Marine Personnel Advisory Committee (MERPAC) drafting of the US Coast Guard's submission to the IMO for the ISPS Code.
The Maritime Department works closely with ABS, BV and RINA to train their surveyors, enable them to issue ISPS Code certification to ships and ports and provide expertise for their qualification criteria for RSO status.
Over the past 3 years, we have trained over 4,000 Ship, Company and Port Facility Security Officers and have conducted 400+ ship and port facility security assessments and developed their plans worldwide. We have advised numerous international ship and port operators on ISPS Code implementation.
The Maritime Department has extensive experience from both the military and commercial sectors in providing waterborne security. The company provides consultancy services, personnel and vessels for Anchorage and Oilfield Waterborne Security Support, Exclusion Zone Enforcement, Sub-Surface Detection/Deterrence and Anti-piracy Support Services for Governments and industry. Examples of our experience in providing Waterborne Security Services worldwide include: Anti-piracy Services in the Gulf of Aden and Malacca Straights, EEZ Fisheries Protection Operations along the coast of East Africa and Exclusion Zone Enforcement and Maritime Counter Terrorism training courses to the Yemen Ministry of Defence.
The Maritime Department works with governments and industry to provide security consultancy for the protection of strategic assets. We have provided security vulnerability assessments (SVAs), gap analyses, mitigation strategies and technical solutions for coastline areas with industrial, commercial and residential facilities, offshore and onshore terminal facilities.
The Maritime Department provides a range of internationally accredited training courses to fulfill both regulatory and company requirements. Our courses are approved by the Maritime Coast Guard Agency (MCA), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), RINA, and the Liberian, Republic of the Marshall Islands and Panamanian Registries. We have provided training courses for a broad spectrum of governments and companies at all working levels. Our clients have included:
